Martin Bridge Repair, page 4

Ooze out will continue to occur for about 15 minutes, so I have to tend the instrument during this time pretty closely.

The next day the clamps come off and the pins get pulled.  I'll set these aside and use them again for the Washburn guitar with the same problem.  They will pull out pretty easily if they were waxed off properly.

This special tapered reamer matches the taper of the bridge pins and is used only to clean up the glue that dried on the inside.  Too much reaming will result in bridge pins that will not fit.

I vacuum out the interior of the guitar before stringing.  I do this carefully as a strong vacuum can collapse a fragile guitar top.

A very gentle polish gets rid of the thin film of glue residual left from the job.  A thinned cotton swab adds a little color touch up that will help insure that this repair is invisable.

All done.  Looks good, and more importantly, the guitar sounds better and is much better off having had the repair.

    Thank you for visiting.
